Rick has been continuously engaged as an Employee / Labor Relations and Personnel Consultant for over twenty-seven years.  Prior to establishing EMCO, Rick held positions as Personnel Manager and Assistant Personnel Manager in various companies in the manufacturing and trucking industries.  After graduating from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Rick began his career representing management’s interests as a Labor Relations Specialist with Rockwell International.  Since 1981, he has assisted hundreds of clients with their Human Resource function.  Negotiating labor agreements with the United Steelworkers, United Auto Workers, Teamsters, Laborers, and Food and Commercial Workers, he has been exposed to a vast array of contract interpretation issues and economic conditions.  His emphasis in negotiations is to ensure the profitability of the enterprise first, and then to address a fair and equitable distribution of the benefits derived from achieving and maintaining that goal.  Rick was certified in 2006 by the National EEO Investigative Services Office to investigate discrimination and sexual harassment claims for the United Postal Service.  He has presented numerous seminars to management and production employees on subjects ranging from harassment and discrimination to unemployment compensation and benefits analysis.
